August 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Beachcombing is a great way to get outside and explore our natural environment. Shells are often overlooked as mere keepsakes and decorations, but they are remnants of animals that once grew, fed, reproduced, and struggled for survival right here along our shoreline. Learning some basics about seashells will give you a new appreciation for the creatures that live on and beneath the sand. Come spend an hour learning from presenter Kevin Van Dien about our mollusk neighbors, the bivalves and the gastropods! Bring in your shells to have them identified!
