Thursday, November 30 from 9:00-10:00 a.m.— The library will host a Sensory Friendly browsing hour before normal business hours so visitors can have a chance to explore and ask questions during a quieter, low-traffic time. The library will have ear plugs, ear coverings, and more available for those who experience sensory defensiveness. The lighting will be reduced throughout the library and there will be separate areas for noise and quiet. We are looking forward to fostering a community conversation where we hear from neurodiverse community members about their needs and desires for visits to the library. For those interested in preparing ahead of time, we’ve included our Social Experience Story on our website.
